Sea Shepherd is an international direct-action ocean conservation organization with a mission to defend, conserve and protect our oceans.
The non-profit marine conservation organization engages in direct action campaigns to defend wildlife, and conserve and protect the world’s oceans from illegal exploitation and environmental destruction.
The Sea Shepherd organization was founded in 1977 by captain Paul Watson. In 2008, Animal Planet made the successful Whale Wars tv-series based on the encounters of Sea Shepherd with the Japanese whaling fleet in the Southern Ocean. The series raised public awareness of the issue of illegal whaling and of the organization itself. Sea Shepherd has received widespread public support for its actions against illegal fishing, whaling, and seal hunting as well as support and funding from celebrities, such as musicians and TV personalities.
The organization just launched a brand new website seashepherdglobal.org and Bestoked is responsible for the online marketing (SEA) of Sea Shepherd Global. (on a voluntary basis)
